Monica Emilie Herstads “Comewhatmay” at The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival

Monica Emilie Herstads video “Comewhatmay” has been officially selected for exhibition in the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival 2005, November 12-16.

The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (NYIIFVF) is the largest film festival in the world. Each festival showcases over 300 films from around the world, including world premieres, features, shorts, documentaries and animations. NYNYIIFVF 2005 exhibits in New York and Los Angeles.
Survival strategies and self-control are the themes of herStay’s production “Comewhatmay”. “Comewhatmay” is created in a dialectics between inner movement and surface aesthetics, and is guiding the audience to enter a meditative state of mind, wherein the observers meets their own pulsation.
Monica Emilie Herstad was recently offered the opportunity of a research grant at the Center of Ibsen Studies, at The University of Oslo, in 2005 and 2006, related to her performance “The ladies of the sea vs Nora”, to be developed in the Ibsen year 2006. Monica Emilie Herstad is also present as the artist of this August month issue of the Le Monde Diplomatique, page 1 to 9, initiated by the chief editor Truls Lie, Scandinavian version. The subtitle of this issue is EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL, with articles by Denis Duclos, Riccardo Petrella, etc.

“Comewhatmay" will also be presented as a solo dance performance and a multimediaevent on November 16. 
An evening where the audience, and specially invited guests, may enjoy the dance performance, screening and a reception. Tickets $20
