Sons of Norway Scholarships
Sons of Norway offers several different stipends, some for Norwegians, some for Americans, for everything from summer school in Oslo to high school scholarship. To learn more about these different scholarship, click here.
The Norwegian Children's Home Association of New York, Inc.
This Association gives grants based on need to students who are American citizens or who have been residents of the U.S. for at least one year, and enrolled or accepted into a full time program of study at an American undergraduate school. Applicants must be of at least 25 per cent Norwegian ancestry. See this article for more information.

The Lakselaget Inc. Scholarship
Minnesota-based Lakselaget offers scholarships to Norwegian female students wishing to study in Minnesota or at UND in Grand Forks, or to Norwegian women who have internships in the same area. It also offers scholarships to American women from or living in Minnesota who want to study in Norway. Applicants should have an interest in contemporary Norway and all things Norwegian, such as the sciences, technology, business, politics, language and culture, and who seek to enhance and disseminate their knowledge. Lakselaget is particularly interested in rewarding women who live up to the organization’s motto of “Women who swim against the current.” The most important criteria, however, is that the student shows a genuine interest in Norway and the United States and the connection between the two countries. The Norwegian female student must come to Minnesota and attend an accredited college or university in the state, while the American student must do the same in Norway. The application deadline for this particular scholarship is usually in March, but please check the organization’s website for more information. The Madison Viking Scholarship
The Madison Viking Scholarship is awarded to American students at the University of Wisconsin in order to enable them to go to the University of Oslo during the summer term. They spend the entire summer term at the university before going on a tour of the four Scandinavian countries. Members of the Brittingham Viking Organization will be on hand to help and guide them in all of the countries. The recipients will also be initiated as members of the BVO organization once the term is over. The stipend also includes $500, which should be spent on the airfare. This scholarship will be available again come September.

The Norway-America Association Undergraduate Stipend
The Norway-America Association (NAA) offers stipends to Norwegian undergraduate students who want to study in the United States or Canada. These stipends are not cash grants, but are credited towards tuition, fees, and room and board. The NAA Undergraduate Program has appr. 20 universities and colleges spread across North-America, offering Norwegian students a wide range of topics to study. The students must have good academic standing and speak English well. The application deadline is usually in December, but further details can be found here.

Wisconsin Alumni Association Scholarship
The Wisconsin Alumni Association Scholarship is given to a Norwegian student, who can then come to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and study for the summer term. The scholarship covers the entire tuition as well as room and board, travel expenses and an allowance. The applicant must have studied for at least two years at a college or university in Norway. It is also an advantage for the student if he or she shows a genuine interest in international relations and community involvement in addition to possessing good English skills. There is an application fee of 250 NOK for this stipend.
