Education for All - High Level Group Meeting in Oslo

The Education for All High-Level Group meeting is held in Oslo from December 16 - 18.

The Education for All High-Level Group meeting is an annual event that brings together top-level representatives from government, development agencies, UN agencies, civil society and the private sector. Its role is to reinforce political will in order to accelerate progress towards Education for All, strengthen partnerships, identify priorities and mobilize more resources.
 
The Government of Norway host the international high level meeting, together with UNESCO (Dec 16 - 18). Norway is the first donor country to host the meeting. The meeting gathers Ministers of Education from countries with high poverty rate and Ministers of Deveolpment from rich countries to see solutions to reach the UN Millennium Development Goal; Achieve universal primary education.
 
Minister of the Environment and International Development Erik Solheim and Minister of Education Bård Vegar Solhjell are hosting the meeting, and Queen Rania of Jordan, Unesco Director General Koïchiro Matsuura, and President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal are some of the guests at the high-level meeting.
