Elimination rounds will be played in Washington, Orlando, Miami and Birmingham. Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia will host both the women's and men's semifinals and finals.
Schedules for the first round of Olympic matches have been announced. The Norway women's team, the defending world champions, will play all three first-round matches at RFK Stadium in Washington. The U.S. women's team will play their two first games at Orlando's Florida Citrus Bowl and the third at Miami's Orange Bowl.
"We are happy to host the Norwegian team at RFK," says Emilio Pozzi, executive vice president of the Washington organizing committee. "We expect them to draw a large crowd." The United States, Norway, Brazil, Japan, China, Germany, Denmark and Sweden are the eight participating women's teams. Sixteen men's teams will compete, though at this writing the only known participant is the U.S. team. Qualifying matches are pre-sently being played on several continents.

Phone orders will be made available for the remaining tickets in February, but Pozzi warns "You are taking your chances if you wait, especially for the U.S. games and the opening ceremony." At this writing, some 12,000 seats have been sold for the games at RFK, which has a capacity of 55,000.
