This dollar amount represents an increase of ten percent in comparison with the same period last year. The quantity also increased by six percent.

Exports to the Ukraine rose by an incredible 199 percent to $8.3 million. Exports to Russia increased by 78 percent to $8.7 million, while the increase to Poland was 62 percent to $6.5 million.

The rising exportation revenues and quantities are a result of increased exports of herring, mackerel, and capelin.

Record ad campaign for Norwegian seafood
The Norwegian Seafood Export Council will spend $105 million over the next three years to promote Norwegian seafood throughout the world.

Norway is the world's largest exporter of seafood, according to a survey by the Food and Agriculture Organzation (FAO) of the United Nations. And Norway also spends more than any other country on seafood advertising. Last year, Norway’s seafood exports brought in $3.3 billion.
