Norway.org reaches milestone of 50,000
Norway’s official web site in the United States, www.norway.org , passed 50,000 unique visitors in October, establishing itself as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ most popular site.
Culture, visa enquiries and facts about Norway are among the most frequently searched for information on the web site, statistics show. History and Information about traveling to Norway are other popular searches.
The Norwegian Christmas celebration at Union Station in Washington, D.C., due to start on November 28, is expected to generate even more visitors to the site.
In total 370,000 people visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ different web sites around the world in October, a mere 10,000 visitors short of the record set in May, 2006.
October 8 marked the three-year anniversary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ improved web service “Norgesportalen”, a collective term for all the different embassy sites around the world.
