On Saturday, August 28, Fanny Sophie Gjestland was announced as this years winner of the fall exhibition, titled "Triennale 2004", at The Museum of Applied Art in Oslo. Fanny Sophie Gjestland will participate in the exhibition Fiberart International at the Museum of Arts & Design in New York City in September. Fiberart International will feature the work of 48 artists, showcasing the trends and innovations of all facets of the fiber medium. The biennial documents the energy, vitality, and innovation of artists using the medium of fiber. From traditional imagery to abstract sculpture, the exhibition erases all lines of separation between art and craft. Fanny Sophie Gjestland will show works from her series "Objects of Daydreaming".
Also; On Thursday, September 9 11am - 1 pm: Meet the Artists. Join selected artists from the international roster of exhibiters as they present their work in informal gallery talks. Learn about the variety of techniques and materials being used in fiber art today - from the traditional to the truly far out! Meet at the Front desk. Free with museum admission.
