Bente Kahan in St. Paul and Wisconsin

This distinguished singer will give two concerts in Minnesota this month.

Bente Kahan was born in Oslo in 1958. After training as an actor in Tel-Aviv and New York, she has worked in the National Theater of Israel and "Nasjonalteateret" in Oslo, Norway. Her family tree dates back to 13th Century Spain, through centuries and Europe, and ending in Norway. She will perform in Yiddish, Ladino (the language of Spanish Jews), Hebrew and several others.

This program was commissioned by by the Bergen Cultural City 2000 and the Norwegian Council of Affairs.  She has released several records and her work unfailingly receives critical praise by newspapers and audiences alike.

When: March 2nd 7.30 pm in St. Paul, March 3rd, 7 pm in Wisconsin.
