This September, Ante Mikkel Gaup and Lars Ailo Gaup will play, joik and tell stories in the vocal tradition of the Sami people at Scandinavia House in NYC.
Ante and Lars will tell the adventures and legends of Juffá, a Sámi reindeer herder. Using a traveling planetarium, Ánte will teach symbols and mythologies of Sámi constellations and a traditional Lavvu tent will be constructed on the terrace so that the children can experience traditional Sámi culture first-hand.
