The inhabitants of Petersburg, Alaska celebrates the Norwegian Constitution Day for the 49th time this year. The festival runs from 17th to 20th of May.

The small town of Petersburg really knows how to have a great time! Everyone who visits during the festival is an honorary Norske for the weekend. Vikings and Valkyries in furs and attitude roam the streets while the Pickled Herring Band plays non-stop. Craft and food booths are filled with traditional Alaskan Native fare, Petersburg’s world-class seafood and fine Norwegian delicacies.
There will also be a festival parade with the Sons of Norway leading with their 32' Viking ship named Valhalla, filled with Norwegian flag waving kids. The 100+ Leikarring dancers entertain with smiles and wear their local bunad. The Sons hosts a Bunad style show luncheon with over 50 different bunads shown. There is also a Kaffe Hus with smorbrod and hundreds of Norwegian pastries,a Smorgasbord, a Shrimp feed, a Salmon and Black Cod BBQ on the beach and much, much more...
