Wenche da Cruz: From Silvertown

Wenche da Cruz presents paintings from "Silvertown" at the Trygve Lie Gallery in New York. Opening reception with Ambassador Knut Vollebaek on September 8.

Wenche da Cruz is a Norwegian painter from Kongsberg - a town in Norway famous for its rich resources of silver - hence the title of the exhibition: From Silvertown. But the images Wenche da Cruz presents is much more than 'landscapes' from this beautiful smalltown. Her goal is – though art – to create a dwelling place for people to enter into. With both seriousness and humor she works with figurative as well as with abstract motifs – with pencil, watercolors, acryllic and oils. She may seem ‘un-Norwegian’ in her use of symbols and admits that she has received a lot of inspiration through her many years living abroad in different parts of the world. The opening reception will take place Thursday, September 8, 6 - 8 pm, where Ambassador Knut Vollebæk will officially open the exhibition. Admission is free, and the exhibit is open to the public.
When: September 8 - October 9, Monday – Thursday: 12-8. Friday - Sunday: 12-5.
Where: Trygve Lie Gallery, 317 East 52nd St., New York (between 1. and 2. Avenues).
