Drawings by Norwegian artist Martin Skauen will be featured on Artek Contemporaries March 24.
Artek Contemporaries will present a group exhibition of works on paper, curated by Rose Burlingham.
Three artists, using the simplest of means, make images of release, escape, and subversion of the soul trapped in
the physical plane.
The exhibition features drawings by Norwegian artist Martin Skauen, Ivaylo Gueorgiev, and Serge Onnen.
Martin Skauen is a young Norwegian artist living in Oslo; his Boschean large-scale pencil extravaganza is of a motley cast of fantastic hybrid characters, who are all physically connected. Skauen studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Molla Art School in Moss. He runs the gallery Subcomandante in Oslo, and performs in the band Det Svenska Folket.
