Photo-exhibit of the life and work of Trygve Lie (1896-1968). The exhibition will cover the period when Trygve Lie was Secretary General of the United Nations (1946-53). The photos are from meetings in the U.N., Trygve Lie in the company of important statesmen and royalties, and from his many visits to foreign countries.
A major part of the photos comes from Trygve Lie’s personal archive, given to the Library of the University of Oslo.
Others are from the UN and various news agencies. The exhibition will be shown in conjunction with the 60th session of the UN General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters. Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Kofi Annan will be present at the opening on Thursday, September 22. The Exhibition is open to the public, free entrance. Please bring valid photo-ID.
