The radical emancipation of the individual in late modern society has intensified the reflections on identity. This is highly visible in the work of the contemporary Norwegian performance artist Jon Løvøen and in the novels of the author Erlend Loe. Changing masculinity in the welfare society is a key issue in the work of both these Norwegian artists. The artist Løvøen will participate at the lecture, and he will also participate at the Select Media Festival 4, Oct. 28, Iron Building, Bridgeport.
