Electronica band Røyksopp will tour the U.S. this fall with concerts in New York, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Portland and Hollywood from September 13 to September 22. Annie will be the warm up act for the band.
Electronica band Røyksopp with Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge returns to the U.S. for their second time this year. After the success of their debut album "Melody A.M.", Røyksopp could have easily rested on their laurels. Their first album sold in 1 000 000 world wide, 500 000 in UK alone; they toured with Basement Jaxx and Moby, not to mention headline tours of their own, and won them a MTV Best Video Awards. Their second album, "The Understanding", was released in US on July 12 and have received outstanding reviews. Their second album is resolutely different to their first, but reassuringly the same in excellence. The opening act for Røyksopp will be pop artist Annie (born Anne Lilia Berge-Strand). She has been described as pop as early Madonna or late Kylie Minouge, yet her hipster credibility puts her just as close to Saint Etienne or Miss Kittin. Her latest album Anniemal was originally released in 2004, in the U.S. June of 2005.
