One of Norway's most accomplished Boys' Choirs, the Nidarosdomen Guttekor, will tour the U.S. east coast from April 6 through 16
The Boys' Choir is not only Norway's oldest, it is also considered one of Norway's very finest, representing a 900-year long tradition of boy singers in the Nidaros cathedral in Trondheim. The present choir was founded in 1927.
The choir consists of approximately 50 boys and 25 men, and has performed in recent years everywhere from London, Moscow, Rome and Paris to Seattle and the Canary Islands. The choir's international status was confirmed in 2001, when the Academy of European Choirs appointed it as one of 15 European Culture Ambassadors.
The choir sings a capella pieces from Gregorian to modern times, as well as larger pieces for choir and orchestra.
