Nordic Fashion then and now

On November 3, the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle will host a fashion show highlighting both contemporary and traditional fashion from each of the Nordic countries.

This event is part of the Museum’s 25th Anniversary celebration and will showcase current Nordic fashion trends, as well as traditional folk costumes. The evening’s events will start with a reception at 6:30 pm which includes appetizers and wine and an opportunity to view our galleries. At 7:30 the fashion show will begin. Local models will be wearing contemporary women’s fashion from all five Nordic countries, including such designers as Blue Willis (Denmark), Marimekko (Finland), Oleana and Duodu (Norway), and fashion from Iceland and Sweden. In addition, children’s clothing from Hanna Andersson (Sweden) will be presented. The middle of the show will highlight traditional Nordic folk costumes modeled by their owners.

Representatives from each of the designers will provide the clothing and an opportunity to purchase the viewed garments will follow immediately after the show.

$30 per person, $50 for VIP tickets.
