Ibsen films; “It Takes An Other Kind of Man” at Hunter College

The Ibsen film series will be introduced by Text on Film scholar Anne-Katrin Titze at Hunter College in October; A Romantic Trilogy: A Play of Modern Life, Hitchcock’s New Set of Dolls, and Nothing But the Truth. Followed by post screening discussions.

Anne Kristine Thorsby was the Peer Gynt festival artist in 2004. She chose to absorb herself into Ibsens "Peer Gynt" and work on new pictures, all of which were inspired by Ibsen's text. View her paintings from the series at Trygve Lie Gallery in New York, beginning October 5.

The Norwegian Consulate General and The Norwegian Seamen’s Church invite to this well reviewed theater performance at the Church on Friday October 27th. The Norwegian actress Jeanne Bøe will perform her play "PEER GYNT - with Troll in Heart", based on Henrik Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt. The play is a monologue, where Bøe plays all the characters.

The UC-Berkeley Department of Scandinavian and the Norway House Foundation present a dramatic reading of Henrik Ibsen's final play on April 26.

The standout cast of Norway’s Nationaltheateret brings a rich humanity to Ibsen’s highly metaphorical drama in a distinctly nuanced performance, capturing the fear, failings, and self-deception that mar its characters with pitch-perfect accuracy and giving its final, tragic act the brutal force of a hammer blow. Opens at Brooklyn Academy of Music on October 25.
