Anne Kristine Thorsby was the Peer Gynt festival artist in 2004. She chose to absorb herself into Ibsens "Peer Gynt" and work on new pictures, all of which were inspired by Ibsen's text. View her paintings from the series at Trygve Lie Gallery in New York, beginning October 5.
The main theme of the series is Peer and his many meetings with women, his sub-conscience and other dark forces, Solveigs choice, Peer's long journey and last but not least, the artists own confrontation with Peer.The exhibition consists of paintings with mixed techniques and lithographys.
The exhibition will be opened by world renowed author of "Sophie's world" Jostein Gaarder.
Opening reception wil take place Thursday, October 5th, 6 - 8 pm.
