Haavard Homstvedt at Feigen Contemporary

Norwegian artist Haavard Homstvedt will be exhibiting his recent work in the exhibition " Relentless Proselytizers " at the Feigen Contemporary Gallery in New York.

The show opening in July is curated by David Hunt, and focuses on a theme of personal narratives. Homstvedt's work fits this context well, while it is conceived between the tensions of a classical figuarative tradition and that of an abstract and unnerving modernism. His duplication of human facial expressions and forms creates an immediate dialogue with the viewer, allowing for meticulous inspection of detail, as well as quiet contemplation of the work as a whole. Haavard Homstvedt is a recent graduate from Yale University School of Art, with a Master of Fine Arts in painting and printmaking. Opening reception on Thursday, July 1 from 6 to 8 pm.
When: July 1 to August 15, Tuesday - Saturday, 11am - 6pm
Where: Feigen Contemporary Art Gallery, 535 West 20th Street, NYC, bet. 10th and 11th Avenues
