Irene Christensen, a Norwegian by birth, is an artist of many parts. In paint and assemblage she is represented in numerous public and private collections worldwide, including MoMA, the Norsk Skogs Museum in Norway and the Bergen Museum in New Jersey.
She has lectured at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC and at the Pen and Brush in New York City as well as The Florida International University Honor Class as well as other institutions.
“Irene Christensen’s art is about painting as a magical act. Her images repeat and are transformed, as words and images in poems. She likes to maintain a sense of wonder in her art.
