Reception in Honor of Norwegian Artists

Loveed Fine Arts invites you to attend a reception in honor of internationally recognized artists Marian Heyerdahl and Ole Lislerud.

The sculptures of Marian Heyerdahl are influenced by her travels around the world. Her artistic research has come full circle with special emphasis from the African, South American and Asian continents back to her home in Italy. Her work is primarily monumental in scale with projects in Africa, Asia and Europe and concerns issues of femininity and nature, often utilizing adobe in her architectural projects. Her recent "Terracotta Woman" project is Marian Heyerdahl's interpretation of the famous terracotta soldiers from Xi'an, transforming them into women.

Ole Lislerud, a Professor at the Academy of Art and Design in Oslo, Norway, crosses the threshold of art and architecture in his large scale ceramic murals, paintings, plaques and panels. He has recently incorporated his drawings on glass to his architectural projects. Lislerud combines in his work images from modern society with pieces of scripture, graffiti, biblical text and other social icons. He stirs the conscience and opposes old with new, intellectual with visual, creating a conglomeration of icons throughout time with a visual contrast assembled in one work.
