A translation of light and color

In the exhibition "Light Writes Always in Plural" the Norwegian artist Anne Senstad investigates and translates the sensations that arise from our perception of light and color into a visual experience.

Anne Katrine Senstad has exhibited solo shows worldwide since 2002, and has been honored by Her Majesty the Queen of Norway on several occasions. One of her most famous works is the artist book “The Norwegians” which contains 50 portraits of Norwegian men.

The exhibition “Light Writes Always in Plural” is a continuation of her earlier work “Essence of Light” and “Light, Color, Sound”. In her works she is mainly concerned with the relationship between light and color.

By photographing the behavioral patterns of her light sources, industrial fluorescent bulbs, she arrests light’s movement and its effect upon architectonic space. Senstad has exhibited widely internationally, including the Architectural Museum in Sao Paulo, The Noorderlicht Institution in The Netherlands, Galleri JMS in Oslo, Houston Center for Photography, Gary Snyder Fine Art and Björn Ressle Fine Art in New York.
