Norwegian and Swedish Ambassadors on Conflict Resolution
Thursday April 28 the Swedish and the Norwegian Ambassadors will come to Minneapolis to engage in a seminar on conflict resolution, the Swedish and Norwegian Experiences.
As part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the peaceful separation of their two countries, Norway and Sweden’s Ambassadors to the U.S. are traveling throughout the United States to share the experience of their respective countries in global peace making and the insight they have each gained from their extensive careers in foreign affairs.
They will discuss the key roles smaller nations can play in the peaceful resolution of challenging and difficult conflicts across the globe. Both Ambassadors are actively engaged in the U.N. Ambassador Eliasson is president elect of the United Nations General Assembly and has worked extensively with U.N. Humanitarian Affairs. Ambassador Vollebæk played a key negotiating role during the war in Kosovo.
Registration and reception will begin at 2.30 pm and the seminar will take place from 3-4.30 pm in Crowles Auditorium, Humphrey Institute.
This event is hosted by the Minnesota International Center. Co sponsors are the Royal Norwegian Consulate General, the American Swedish Institute, the Swedish Council of America and the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs.
