The 42nd Astoria Scandinavian Festival will take place on June 19 - 21, 2009, celebrating the history and culture of the Scandinavian countries.
The festival opens Friday afternoon at 2pm, and in the evening the celebration starts off with the coronation of Miss Scandinavia and the Public Dance. Saturday the festivities continue early with the Troll Run at 8am and breakfast from the Scandinavian Café. Scandinavian foods, crafts, children's activities and entertainment will be available all weekend. The featured entertainers for 2009 are Kerry Christensen, Alpine yodeling master, and Terih Miikki-Broersmaa, Finlandia Foundation entertainer of the year. Sunday begins with the famous Rotary Pannakakku Breakfast at 8am, and ends with the closing ceremony at 4pm.
