Due to the implementation of biometric passports, the Honorary Consulates, including the Honorary Consulate General in Minneapolis, will no longer be able to accept passport applications for persons over 12 years of age. Regular office hours for the Embassy and Consulates General are 9 am - 4 pm. However, there are certain office hours designated for handling visits pertaining to visa and passports, which vary by location. Read more

As a rule you must apply for a visa in person at designated foreign missions. The visa processing fee is $85. United States citizens can vacation in Norway for up to 90 days without a visa. Travel and Health Insurance and submission of full travel itinerary is mandatory with a Visa application. Read more

For issuance or renewal of a Norwegian passport you may submit an application in person at the Norwegian Embassy in Washington or the Consulate General in New York, San Francisco or Houston. Please call ahead of time to make passport renewal appointments. Read more

Photographs for visas must satisfy certain requirements regarding their shape and quality. If the following requirements are not met, the applicant must be asked to present a new photograph that satisfies the requirements. Read more
