At GAP2013, the preliminary results of a new implementation study by Stavanger University Hospital were presented by Dr. Kirsten Lode. Titled “I am not the same,” the study centers on using expressive writing as a therapeutic method for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will visit Houston in May to celebrate 40 years of Norwegian participation at the annual Offshore Technology Conference.

Dr. Lene Berge Holm and Dr. Kaja Beate Nyquist participated in the IVLP, a U.S. State Department exchange program that has taken them across the United States, visiting hospitals and other medical institutions in North Carolina, Iowa, and Texas.

The second Lunch’n Learn event, on March 20, 2013, at Norway House featured presentations by Dr. Gary H. Isaksen of ExxonMobil, and Dr. Jostein Mykletun, Norway’s Consul General in Houston. The speakers focused on the Artic, and especially the outlook that ExxonMobil and Norway have on the region and its further development.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is a set of film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences that take place every Spring in Austin, Texas. This year there were 11 Norwegian contributions to the music side of the festival, which is the largest of its kind in the world.
