Kvelertak Grabs Hold of Houston’s Metal Scene

As part of a nationwide tour of the U.S., following the release of their critically acclaimed second album, “Meir,” the Norwegian metal sensation Kvelertak performed at Houston’s prime metal venue, Fitzgerald’s, on May 11.

On April 29, NorTex was presented at the Rice Consortium for Processes in Porous Media at Rice University. During this year's OTC, the Norwegian pavilion celebrated its 40th anniversary, and the occasion was marked by a visit from TRH Crown Prince Håkon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Norway's Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Ola Borten Moe. These events spurred large amounts of media coverage of the Norwegian oil and gas industry.

The second Lunch’n Learn event, on March 20, 2013, at Norway House featured presentations by Dr. Gary H. Isaksen of ExxonMobil, and Dr. Jostein Mykletun, Norway’s Consul General in Houston. The speakers focused on the Artic, and especially the outlook that ExxonMobil and Norway have on the region and its further development.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is a set of film, interactive, and music festivals and conferences that take place every Spring in Austin, Texas. This year there were 11 Norwegian contributions to the music side of the festival, which is the largest of its kind in the world.
