Terje Isungset will be playing music on instruments made out of ice on the 25th of February at the Cedar. With Norwegian Singer Mari Kvien Brunvoll, his “Ice Music” will be played for the first time in Minnesota.

Norwegian Embassy representatives will travel to the Midwest with mariner and organisational developer Thorleif Thorleifsson in October 2012. Thorleifsson and famous explorer Børge Ousdal became the first persons to sail around the Arctic in one season in 2010. The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Minneapolis was pleased to announce the opening of the Roald Amundsen 100 Year Anniversary Exhibit in downtown Minneapolis on Thursday, August 17, 2012. Honorary Consul General Gary Gandrud opened the exhibit, which commemorates the life of Roald Amundsen, a Norwegian, who in 1911 became the first man to reach the South Pole.
