Gary Gandrud is the Norwegian Honorary Consul General in Minneapolis.

Gary L. Gandrud is a founding member of the Norwegian American Foundation, and has been Chairman for the organization. Until recently he was President of the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce in Minneapolis. Gandrud is also a longstanding member of the board of Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum and a former Chairman of the museum board. Gary is well known as always being willing to help in any area he may be of any assistance

Gary Gandrud is a Partner in the law firm of Faegre & Benson with offices in Minneapolis, Des Moines, Denver, Boulder, London, Frankfurt and Shanghai. He is a graduate of St.Olaf College and the University of Minnesota Law School. He is Past President and current Board Member of Vesterheim and a member of the Minneapolis Torske Klubben.

Gary Gandrud received the Ambassador's Award in 2007 for his dedication and significant contribution to strengthening the ties between Norway and the US.

Mr. Gandrud served as Honorary Consul from August 1, 2008 until January 15, 2010, when he succeeded Vice President Walter F. Mondale as Honorary Consul General.
