About the Consulate General

Welcome to the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York. Established in 1906, it is the oldest and largest Norwegian Consulate General in the United States. Our office in New York provides consular services for 22 states on the east coast of the U.S.

The Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York will be closed on the following holidays in 2017:

January 1, January 16, February 20, May 17, May 29, July 4, September 4, October 9, November 23, December 25 and December 26.

The week between Christmas and New Years we are open from 10 am to 15 pm.

Consular Services
The Consulate General in New York provides consular services for the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. The Consulate General administers 8 Honorary Consulates/Consulates General under its jurisdiction.

Culture and information
The Consulate General provides information on Norway to the public in the district, and facilitates cultural and educational exchange between the two countries.
