General Office Hours
General office hours are Monday - Friday, 09:00 am - 4:00 pm. We are closed for lunch between 12:15 pm and 12:45 pm. The switchboard is not operated during lunch.
Schengen Visa Office Hours
Office hours for Schengen Visa are 9:30 am - 12 noon. Fridays closed. To submit an application you must first book an appointment. Please see the Visa Guidelines.
Passport Application Office Hours
Office hours for passport applications are 09:30 am -11:30 am and 13:30 pm-15:00 pm, all weekdays.

The Consulate General in San Francisco covers the 13 most western states in the United States. There are 65 million people in this area. 38 million only in California. In the Bay Area alone there are between 40 - 50.000 people of Norwegian descent and 5 - 6.000 Norwegian citizens.
The purpose of our presence is to take care of Norwegian interests ranging from consular services to the individual to promoting Norwegian culture, assisting Norwegian businesses and reporting on political and economic affairs of importance for Norway.

One of the important tasks of the Consulate General is to provide information about Norway. We are involved in a number of events every year and we work closely with cultural and academic institutions in our area.
