ALBUM is a magazine by the two Norwegian artists Eline Mugaas and Elise Storsveen. This summer you can explore their art project as part of an exhibition at White Columns.
Mugaas and Storsveen have over several years produced the magazine ALBUM, a publication created from found images from various sources such as Scandinavian households, cookbooks, and fashion magazines. Each with a different theme, all together they bring up heavy subject matters like nature, the family, femininity, sexuality, the media, and loneliness.
For the White Columns installation, Mugaas and Storsveen will present several new collages including a large-scale work made for vitrine. The exhibition is on view from June 11-July 26, 2014.
In this group exhibition ALBUM is presented by Primary Information, a non-profit organization devoted to printing artists books, artist writings, out of print publications and editions. In September, Primary Information will release a publication collecting the first ten issues of ALBUM.
Opening reception: Tuesday June 10, 6-8pm.
