Carnegie Hall Debut: Norwegian pianist Rune Alver

Norwegian pianist Rune Alver’s Carnegie Hall debut presents Edvard Grieg's most innovative works and their impact on more recent Norwegian and European composers such as Béla Bartók, Friedrich Gulda, Geirr Tveitt, Harald Sæverud and Johannes M. Rivertz.

Mr. Alver has received substantial notoriety for his focus on Grieg's compositions and recently recorded two albums of his works; one on the composer's own Steinway Grand from 1892, and the other from the new concert hall at The Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen.

Works in Mr. Alver's Carnegie Hall debut include Edvard Grieg's Peasant Dances Op. 72, Béla Bartók's Allegro Barbaro and Harald Sæverud´s Ballad of Revolt.
