ICFF, May 18 - 21 is North America’s premier showcase for contemporary furniture and interior design. Join us into “The Woods” by Andreas Engesvik and StokkeAustad, as we take a look at the Norwegian stand and some of the designers. Annually ICFF attracts those interested in design’s latest trends to an up-to-the-moment exhibit and series of fascinating and edifying programs. Insidenorway is the Norwegian contribution to the fair, featuring companies as Røros Tweed, Stokke, Vad, Mandal Veveri and Variér. Shown at the stand is also an exhibition of young designers, curated by Metropolis Magazines Paul Makovsky.

Five Norwegian furniture - and interior design companies is showcasing their products and designs this year’s Insidenorway booth. Variér, VAD, Stokke, Mandal Veveri and Røros-Tweed. Variér, a global leader in Human Design launching their new chair Kokon. VAD is launching the brand new nIce chair - perfect for a powernap at home or in the office. Stokke brings their unique Tripp-Trapp chair growing with the child, their stoller Xplory and the bed system Sleepy. Røros-Tweed is back with their award-winning traditional high quality wool products - and launching new designs. Mandal Veveri is showing their Bunadspledd – blankets inspired by traditional Norwegian costumes – for the first time in the US.

Included in the Norwegian joint booth is the exhibition “The Essence of Things: New Designs from Norway”. The exhibition highlights innovative works by Norwegian designers, some that are just breaking into the market.Designer: Øyvind Wyller

All the objects in the exhibition embrace the fundamental meaning of Scandinavian design—a focus on the essential elements of the work: beauty, simplicity, clean lines, an inspiration from nature and the northern climate, and sustainability. The strength and breadth of the work of these young designers is impressive. – Paul Makovsky, exhibition curator and editorial director of Metropolis Magazine
