International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC

The International Contemporary Furniture Fair will be held in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on May 15-18. On May 18th, the fair will be open to the general public from 10am to 4pm.

The annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) will have more than 500 exhibitors from around the world and more than 24000 attendees and visitors are expected to stop by.

ICFF is an important arena for manufacturers who want to enter US markets. Designers from all over the world, conforming to the higherst international standards, will be showing everything from contemporary furniture, carpets, flooring and lighting to wall coverings, accessories, textiles and residential and commercial interiors.

The three Norwegian manufacturers that will show some of their furniture at ICFF 2010 are Aksel Hansson, Variér Furniture, and HÅG.

Aksel Hansson

will show the different varieties of the simple, pure in style, traditional, and elegant Aksel chairs. The classic Aksel chairs have been produced in Hjelmeland in Norway since 1938. In addition, they will also show a table that supplements the chairs.

Variér Furniture

was established in 2006, but are already well known for their two collections; Human Design and Human Instrument, both based on what is best for the human body.  Among the products that Variér will show are the Peel-chairs and the Variable Balans chair deisgned by Peter Opsvik, TOK, and Move.

 

 

 

Design by HÅG

HÅG

designs products that have a dynamic ergonomic quality, and the company takes environmental considerations into account. At ICFF, HÅG has decided to show HÅG Capisco and HÅG Conventio Wing which are both designed by Peter Opsvik. In addition, they will show the chair HÅG Futu. Together with Kode Design, they received the Environment Award for this chair in 2009. Up to 97 percent of the HÅG Futu chair can be recycled.
