Designer Leila Hafzi at New York International Bridal Show

As part of the Spotlight on couture Show, the Norwegian designer Leila Hafzi will show at the New York International Bridal Show on October 14. Like many other Norwegian designers her focus is on sustainable fashion. The gowns consist of a romantic and feminine style with a classic vintage edge inspired by French country weddings. Her ambition as a designer is to create a production cycle that will be completely environmentally friendly.

Since she presented her first collection and did her first show back in 1997, Leila Hafzi has been dedicated to develop an eco-friendly production process, as well as presenting exquisite design. She's the first Norwegian to ever make design a piece for La Redoute. Over time she's built up a network of the absolute best of what Nepal has to offer in tailoring and fabrics. Her bridal collection consists of natural silk and sensual draping.

As a founder of the company Nepal Production AS, Hafzi has also focused on the importance of ethical trade. This company is a part of The Ethical Trading Initiative - Norway, which is a multi-stakeholder initiative involving companies, trade unions, employer's organizations and NGOs. This initiative is based on the acknowledgements that companies have a responsibility towards human rights.

Hafzi has previously presented her work in cities like Paris and New York, and will once again show in the latter city for the special Spotlight on Coture Show during New York International Bridal Show.
