Nordic Design Weeks in New York: watch the panel debates online

Last updated: 12/16/2010 // In connection with the Nordic Design Weeks in New York in November, the Nordic Consulates presented two panel debates in collaboration with Scandinavia House and Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. Both are now available online.

In the serie of events during the Nordic Design Weeks in New York, Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and Scandinavia House respectively hosted the two panel debates Social Awareness & Sustainability and Design Policy - Lessons Learned.


The first debate featured leading Nordic designers discussing their stance on sustainability and social responsibility in their work and in current design practices. Watch how the designers addressed the issue:


The second debate on the other hand, asked how policy can cultivate the right conditions for design markets to be competitive on a global scale and still be socially minded. Nordic countries have set a precedent for design policy in the global design community.
