The Norwegian Festival 2011 is a celebration of the life and accomplishments of Norwegian running legend Grete Waitz. Grete's Great Gallop, the Norway Run, the Troll Stroll and associated activities takes place on the morning of Saturday, October 1.

There's something for everyone at the Norwegian Festival: running, a raffle with a $400 gift card from Smorgåschef, bagels with Norwegian Salmon by Grieg Seafood, waffles by the Seamen's Church, lots of great family activities with aktiv mot Kreft, Sons of Norway and others, and a celebration of the life and accomplishments of Norwegian running legend Grete Waitz. Grete, who passed away earlier this year, was a four-time Olympian who won the New York City Marathon a record nine times.
