A charming fantasy adventure based on a popular Norwegian television series for children, Magic Silver is about a community of gnomes discovering the secret power of a shimmering silver liquid that bubbles deep within their mountaintop home.
The gnomes are responsible for making the transition between daylight and night. This is called the magic hour, and is created by the magic silver which only these gnomes possess. Faithfully performing the daily "magic-hour" ritual with the silver, the gnomes delight in their precious gift and vow to keep it safe from outsiders. But chaos ensues when timid Princess Bluerose, learning her father is dying, leaves the mountain and tangles with both humans and a rival band of Red Gnomes, threatening the Blue Gnome way of life. Our young heroine learns the strength of friendship, however, and conquers her fears as handily as she pilots a runaway sled through a snow-covered forest on her captivating journey to becoming the "bravest queen Blue Mountain has ever seen."
Magic Silver became a big success after its domestic premiere in Norway in 2009 with over 350 000 admissions. The movie is suitable for ages 6 +.
