The new Scandinavian Cultural Center in West Newton, MA presents a wonderful three-day film event featuring recent films from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden, and a special screening of short films by up-and-coming filmmakers from these countries. Plus- a chance to see the celebrated Norwegian film Oslo, August 31st /Oslo 31. august, for those who missed it in its brief run in the Boston area or who want to see it again.

7:00 PM: Welcome and introductory lecture by Dr. Ursula Lindqvist, Harvard University

11:30 AM: A Selection of New Nordic Short Films (approx. 70 minutes, featuring films from Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Iceland)
1:30 PM: Friðrik Þór Friðriksson’s The Sunshine Boy (Sólskinsdrengurinn)
Visit the Kaffestuga for classic Scandinavian sandwiches, pastries, and coffee between 11 AM and 3PM.
