In connection with the Norwegian Christmas Fair, the Norwegian Seamen's Church in New York invites to a concert with the Norwegian-born singer, Sonja Dalen and her pianist Walter Troelsen on Friday November 20th.

Sonja Dalen was born in Norway and came to the U.S. when she was three years old. During World War II, as a very young girl, she began singing for the Norwegian sailors in Brooklyn, New York. After taking time out to raise a family she again took up her love of singing and started entertaining at numerous Scandinavian events. She was especially proud and happy to be the main entertainer at the parties for the Krigseiler - the brave men of the Norwegian Merchant Marine for 25 years. Sonja returned to Norway in the late 1970's and 80's for a few years and appeared on the TV, Radio and many charity benefits with Walter Troelsen, her accompanist and arranger.

Sonja has sung at the Seamen's Church in New York and around the world on many occasions. She had the honor of having the very lars concert in Brooklyn Seamen's Church and sang at the opening of the new church in New York City - including two events attended by the Norwegian Royal family.

Walter Troelsen is a Danish pianist, singer, composer, arranger and producer. He has recorded several albums, one of which went to No. 1 in the charts in the Middle East. He also has his own TV shows in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Europe. Troelsen performs and arranges jazz, classical, pop music, and numbers from musicals.
He met Sonja Dalen in Norway and did concerts and a radio program with her there. After a 15 year break away from music, Troelsen is now back, busy working as a composer and producer for artists in Australia and Denmark. He is happy to be back working with Sonja Dalen, recording and giving concerts in the U.S.
