Oslo's Heroes & Zeros and Kristiansand's Hanne Kolstø will play in New York City this weekend. Friday, at Fontana's on the Lower East Side in Manhattan. Saturday, at The Paper Box in Bushwick in Brooklyn. Both shows start at 8pm.
Hanne Kolstø does everything herself, using her voice, a guitar and a loopstation to compliment her songs. Her debut record "Riot Break" recieved great reviews in Norway and it will be released in Germany during May. Kolstø is currently both touring and finishing her second album, "FlashBlack", which will be released 14th of September 2012.
Rock trio Heroes & Zeros’ distinct sound sets them apart from most of their domestic peers with a broad sonic palette that sounds distinctly un-Norwegian featuring huge drums, liberal use of distorted bass, atmospheric guitar work and instantly identifiable vocal lines. Despite being a trio, the outfit manages to conjure up a mighty sound on stage. Their rich sound is always pushing forward, never content, always discovering new soundscapes.
Hanne Kolstø and Heroes & Zeros are playing a handful of shows in the US. Their west coats leg will be joined by Portland's "The Hoons".
