After performing at Nordic Jazz in Washington last year, the trio “In the Country” is this summer returning to tour the U.S. with their critically acclaimed jazz music.
The group formed in 2003 and consists of piano player Morten Qvenlid, bass player Roger Arntzen and drummer Pål Hausken. They’ve been named the best young jazz artists in their home country and praised by The New York Times. This year they also won the The Independent Music Awards for their art/concert film Sounds and Sights.
The trio’s member’s prefer to call themselves “the new orphans of modern jazz from Norway”.
So be sure not to miss this expressive modern jazz ensemble touring North-America in May and June 2012.
