As his only appearance during his early spring tour of 2013, the disco-inspired Todd Terje will be playing in New York on January 31. He is one of Norway's leading DJs and producers within the field of electronic dance music.
Todd Terje released It's the Arps back in January 2012, an effervescent EP of which includes instrumental synthpop made entirely on the ARP 2600. The record, and its lead single "Inspector Norse", has been placed on several Best of 2012 music lists, like Animal Collective who included the "Inspector Norse" video on theirs. This video also won the award for Best Scandinavian Music Video of 2012 during Bergen International Film Festival.
As well as a producer, Todd Terje is also an acclaimed DJ. The readers of electronic music magazine Resident Advisor named him one of the top 50 DJs of 2012. Overall musically he's leaning on everything from kitschy euro sounds to deep funk and latin jazz.
