From the Kennedy Center:
Volunteers are Instrumental to Kennedy Center Festivals!
Nordic Cool 2013
will be presented February 19-March 17, 2013
The Kennedy Center is honored to host the latest of its international festivals, Nordic Cool 2013,
February 19-March 17, 2013!
The Center’s international festivals reflect President Michael M. Kaiser’s keen interest in the performing arts of other cultures. The festivals could not operate without the invaluable support of the Friends of the Kennedy Center volunteers and a special group of Festival volunteers.
Nordic Cool 2013
will have performances in music, theater, and dance as well as literature, film, family-friendly cultural exhibits, interactive art and architecture displays, and cuisine from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the Aland Islands. Nature, sustainability, innovation, design and technology, children’s well-being and rights, gender equality, and diversity are reflected in this festival through theater, dance, music, and more.
All volunteers agree to attend an orientation. Student volunteer hours qualify for community service requirements in the Washington Metro area’s schools.
For more information, and to sign up as a Nordic Cool 2013 volunteer, please go to

Come join us! You’ll be glad you did!
We need you to assist visitors to Nordic Cool 2013 events in a variety of ways: welcoming
people, handing out printed information, helping folks find the appropriate venue, and as exhibition hosts, to name just a few.
