Ice Hot: A Nordic dance festival - Carte Blanche performs “Corps de Walk” at Joyce theater in New York

Last updated: 2/13/2013 // After performing at the Nordic Cool festival in Washington DC, Carte Blanche, the Norwegian National Company of Contemporary Dance, stops by New York for several performances at the Nordic Dance festival Ice Hot through March 15 - 17.

The renowned choreographer Sharon Eyal and her partner Gai Behar have created a visual and musical journey of pounding beats, where the Carte Blanche ensemble pulsate in a raw, organic unit that regularly breaks into military positions set to the music of Debussy, to mechanical outbursts of the German industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten's, and to friendly passages from David Byrne's warped backyard.

Audiences from all over Europe have embraced this magnificent piece, as has the press; with quotes like:

"So cool that you refuse blinking of the fear of missing a single movement (...) Everything is performed accurately and the piece is 55 minutes of pure eye-candy." Bergens Tidende Norway

"The piece is beguilingly beautiful and aggressive at the same time, driven by mechanical energy and mathematical precision (...) a firework of magical scenes, constructed by android robot beings - gorgeous and hypnotic!" Nachristen Germany
