Artists and curators at ISCP are invited to present their recent work to the public in the semi-monthly public Salons. ISCP Salons feature Lars Laumann on January 12th, 6-8 pm.

Salon participants present film screenings, performances, small exhibitions, formal lectures, and a number of hybrid formats. Besides from introducing the residents’ practice to the audience, these presentations are important social events encouraging conversation and exchange of ideas among the ISCP residents and the public.

Lars Laumann draws inspiration from the outskirts of popular culture. By sampling and reediting, he creates works that take form as installations or videos. Mixing different media and techniques, he creates idiosyncratical worlds, that are at times absurd and unsettling revelations of our collective modern mythologies. This summer he had solo shows at Maureen Paley, London and Galway Arts Scentre, Ireland; he has participated in group shows at Mariann Goodman, New York, Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland and the 5th Berlin Biennale, Germany. In the near future, he will have solo shows at Winterthur Kunsthalle, Switzerland and at Foxy Productions New York – opening on February 19, 2010.
