The speech at Harvard University was the final stop in Jens Stoltenberg’s last visit to the U.S. as Norwegian Prime Minister. In Boston, Stoltenberg met Norwegian students before delivering a sold-out lecture at The Institute of Politics.

The prime minister spoke about how Norway has avoided this “resource curse,” mainly through the use of the spending rule and the establishment of the Government Pension Fund. Mr. Stoltenberg also pointed out that the workforce, where twice as many women are employed compared to 40 years ago, is Norway’s most important resource today.
The Prime Minister left USA the same evening and is now back in Norway.
