Student Service at Augsburg College

Last updated: 10/17/2011 // Their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway attended a student service in Augsburg Chapel, at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Their Majesties were greeted by Augsburg President Paul Pribbenow.

The receiving line included Reverend Anne Løyning, Bishop Duane Pederson, Northwest Synod of Wisconsin, Bishop Peter Rogness, St. Paul Area Synod, Bishop Harold Usgaard, Southeast Synod of Minnesota, Interim Bishop Glenn Nycklemoe, Minneapolis Area Synod, and Secretary General of the Norwegian Seamen’s Church Audun Myhre.

The Augsburg Student Choir sang, with Norwegian student Therese Borkenhagen as soloist. There was also a text reading and prayer by Norwegian students.

Augsburg College offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and seven graduate degrees to more than 4,000 students of diverse backgrounds. Augsburg demonstrates its commitments through the work of four signature centers: The Augsburg Center for Faith and Learning, the Center for Global Education, the Sabo Center for Citizenship and Learning, and the Strommen Center for Meaningful Work.
