This year’s Transatlantic Science Week is called "Shared Solutions to Common Challenges: and will focus on four major themes: International Security, Cyber Security, Safety and Emergency Preparedness as well as Educational Policy and Educational Research — a wide span of timely and important issues across the Atlantic.

The annual Transatlantic Science Week will be hosted in Houston, November 12-16, with Rice University and MD Anderson Cancer Center as the main venues. The TSW12 website is now operational, and registration has begun.

It is exciting to see the scientific program for this year’s Science Week at UCBerkeley and Stanford University develop. It is still a draft program and some changes must be expected. The Bay Area is famous for excellent research and an extraordinary culture for innovation.
